SFH PARTICIPATES AT AUTO SHANGHAI WITH GBVI ENGINES
Chongqing, April 16, 2019
From April 18 to 25, the 18thShanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition with the theme "Create a Better Life" is being held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center, in Shanghai. As one of the largest engine manufacturers in China, SAIC Fiat Powertrain Hongyan Co., Ltd. (SFH) participates at the fair with its engines Cursor 9, Cursor 11, Cursor 13 and Cursor 9 Natural Gas for on-road applications, displaying its products strengths based on the advanced technologies of FPT Industrial.
Series of GBVI engines unveiled
The GBVI emission regulation comes into effect in 2019, so this is a key year for engine suppliers to seize opportunities of this future market. Many enterprises are not ready to meet the standards, but the ones that are ready will gain a competitive advantage. Among them, SFH has firmly led the upgrade of GBV to GBVI-compliant engines, also relying on the outstanding advantages of the Cursor series.
SFH Cursor 9, Cursor 11, and Cursor 13 Diesel engines adopt a non-EGR highly efficient HI-eSCR system, which is an achievement of FPT Industrial's Research & Development area, based on an experience of more than 25 years in SCR technology. In comparison to competitors, HI-eSCR can help engines achieve >95% of Nitrogen Oxide conversion efficiency without the assistance of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), making it unnecessary for any additional equipment or technology and no need for a larger engine size and cooling system, which greatly reduces the cost of use. Compared to competitors’ products, it can reduce fuel consumption by 3%, reduce engine and after-treatments costs by 11%, save maintenance costs by over 40%, and increase maintenance intervals of DPF by 20%.
In addition to the Diesel GBVI engines, SFH is also exhibiting Cursor 9 Natural Gas. As the emission regulations become increasingly stringent, Natural Gas has showed to be a clean and efficient high-quality fuel.
Cursor 9 Natural Gas engine
Cursor 9 Natural Gas delivers maximum power of 380 hp with torque of 1700 Nm and adopts a three-way catalyst to convert 95% of harmful gases into water, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Compared to its Diesel counterpart, the Cursor 9 NG reduces PM in 99% and NOx in 31%. The engine reduces overall environmental pollution and provides a reliable choice for customers.
SFH market momentum
In more than 10 years since its establishment, SFH developed a full range of products for multiple applications – from 3 liters to 13 liters, powered by Diesel and Natural Gas, from GBIII to GBVI, from SCR to HI-eSCR. This demonstrates its capacity to provide reliable solutions that meet the market rapid changes and the customers’ needs. The outstanding sales performance of SFH in recent years also reflects the increasing customers’ recognition of its products. In 2018, SFH more than doubled its sales volume comparing to 2014, achieving its highest volume.
Liu hui, customer of SFH since 2011, said: “SFH engines deliver power, low fuel consumption and reliability even in tough working conditions. To increase profitability, drivers usually take turns to rest while keeping the vehicle working non-stop. Even in such high load operations, SFH engines deliver performance with long maintenance intervals.”
Furthermore, SFH has been committed to the development of service systems, constantly improving service capabilities. Currently, there are 460 after-sales service stations in China, achieving a 30-minute response to rescue, general failure resolution in 24 hours, and a 72-hour elimination of major failures.
